A lot of knitting was accomplished this week and very little else. Our framily (that would be friends, family and friends that are family) has been at the hospital this week waiting with baited breath as the daughter of one of good friends underwent a double lung transplant. Saturday she woke up, Sunday she walked and Sunday night they moved her out of ICU. I would say she is well on her way to recovery.

Congratulations Jennie! *Hip hip hooray! Repeat from * 2 more times.

I can't take credit for that bit of cleverness. I heard it in the waiting room. You hear all kinds of strange things when you take your Wednesday night knitting group and stretch it out over 4 or 5 days. Updates on Jennie and her new lungs can be found on her blog.

This week I finished the knitting on the body of the curvalicious cardigan. There is an amazingly unflattering picture in my Flickr photostream. I like the way it is shaping up. It will definitely need a ride through the washer to tighten up the fabric, but I like the overall shape and it seems to fit well.

I cast on for the Candleflame Shawl in Kauni.

I started the Jughead Hat from Dominknitrix.

And I listened to music. Thank you for all of your suggestions. I will keep an ongoing playlist on the sidebar of this blog. If you would like to add to the list, leave your suggestions here. This is what I have so far:

  • I Just Want to Celebrate by Rare Earth. This is my choice.
  • Breathe Me by Sia--suggested by the blogless SJ
  • Always See Your Face by Love--suggested by Extra Super Cutie radio
  • What Light by Wilco--Poppymom recommended every song that Wilco has ever done. I chose the most downloaded on in iTunes. :)
  • The Cowherd's Flute by Lang Lang--suggested by Kat
  • Many the Miles by Sara Bareilles--also suggested by Kat
  • 5 Years by Kimya Dawson--suggested by blogless SJ
  • Adir Adirim featuring Victoria Hanna--suggested by knit-blogless Carolyn
  • Believe by Lenny Kravitz--suggested by Amy in STL who I think I know but I cannot figure exactly WHICH Amy in St. Louis. Let me know or send me your email, Amy!
  • Boy with a Coin by Iron & Wine--suggested by The Lady Knits
  • Landslide by Dixie Chicks--suggested by the always entertaining Jamie
  • Grace Cathedral Hill by The Decemberists by Sungazing
  • Good Riddance (Time of your Life) by Green Day--suggested by knit blogless Becky
  • Shelter by Shibutani Subaru (Kanjani8)--Jen recommended two Kanajani 8 You Tube videos. I tried to find them in an iPod compatible format and found "Shelter" instead. Jen might be a little bit evil with her earworming Japanese music.
  • Affirmation by Savage Garden--suggested by Tyger. I couldn't find this on iTunes or in an iTunes compatible format. Can anyone help me out on this?
