Laumeier Knit-In Wrap Up

The Laumeier Knit-In went well! I sat on the porch and listened to the gallery talk over the speakers. Unfortunately it cut out during some of the more interesting parts, but I got the gist of it. About 50 or so knitters gathered in the park in small groups that eventually dwindled down and consolidated to just a few of us who continued to knit and enjoy the wonderful day. I didn't take many pictures, but I did get a few!

Ann is working with some of the first lace yarn I dyed. Isn't she doing a gorgeous job?

Once again I failed to obtain photographic evidence that I was part of my own day. Sure, there were a few pictures from the actual knit in but they are pictures where I am taken from the side while I am slouching and the photographer is slightly downhill from me and looking up. Anyone would look like a humpbacked whale from that angle and that kind of evidence deserves to be destroyed. Did anyone manage to get a decent picture of Scott and I at the event?  Oh wait! I found one. That's me pointing at a yarn bomb at the end of this video clip and feigning ignorance of its source.

I don't know who this guy is who this student journalist interviewed, but he needs to be educated with the pointy end of a knitting needle. The men never EVER did "ALL the knitting". Only men belonged to the guilds because only men were allowed to join. Women did plenty of knitting. And as far as the "manual manipulation" in knitting being more male than female? Again, I am sure you are perfectly nice in other regards, but I've gotta give you a hearty BULLSHIT on that one Mr. Man.
